- Reading INTENSELY and GROUNDING IDEAS IN THE TEXT
- Connected to writing workshop
- Bends (units): mini-lesson, partner work, share, learning progression, home practice (reading log and writing)
- Encourages conversations at home.
- A teaching method in which the goal is to explicitly teach establishing a reading life, thinking deeply about characters, building interpretations, etc.
- Involves students in authentic reading experiences that focus on the reading intensely and grounding our ideas in the text.
